Parents Anniversary

Mom and dad had an anniversary today. They have been married 15 years. To celebrate we went to see King Kong, a terribly long 3-hour movie. In my opinion it was horrible. But then we made up for it by having a delicious pasta dinner. I felt really tired after the movie. I almost went to sleep near the end of it.

Today I got a game called Conga. It is one of the Cranium games.

Holiday Spirit

These are pictures of the ginger bread house I made on Tuesday. It's fun. It's messy. And you get to snack while you are making it. It's not as complicated as I thought it would be.

We opened a present for all three of us on Solstice. It was a Harry Potter Quidtich Board Game. It's fun. It's only two player though. You put a battery in and it says stuff. Then if you catch the snitch you press a button and it says, "Gryffindor wins" or "Slytherin wins."

Books that I've read or listened to.

I've been listening to Ghosts in the Gallery on booktape and we just finished reading Children of the Longhouse. They are both really good books. I would recomend them both.

We read Children of the Longhouse for book club. This is the third book we've read for book club. The other books that we read were The Wishgiver and Wait Till Helen Comes. My favorite so far is Wait Till Helen Comes. It was about a girl and her family who moved into an old church and there was a graveyard in their back yard and it really freaked her out. There is a ghost that her step-sister becomes friends with. It wasn't really that scary to me, but I like the spooky stories and mystery stories.

Probably the best mysteries I have read are the Nancy Drew series. I just finished the ninth one which is called The Sign of the Twisted Candles. It's a little confusing. There are a lot of relatives and stuff in it.

We are listening to Inkheart. It's a great story. It's a story about a girl named Meggie whose father can read people and things out of books. They find out that she has that gift too. It would be kind of cool to be able to do that, but you would have to be careful.

Things I think I might want to be when I grow up.

  • a veterinarian
  • an actress
  • a singer/songwriter

The movie we saw yesterday.

We saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It was good. My favorite scene was when Professor McGonagall was talking to all the students in Gryffindor House. She was telling them about the Yule Ball and teaching them how to dance. She selected Ron from the students and then told the girls to stand up and find partners. The boys got up rather reluctantly and Neville Longbottom was the first to stand up. At the Yule Ball, they turned the Great Hall into an ice castle.

There was another scene where Harry dived into the lake after eating the Gillyweed. It was Neville Longbottom's idea. For a moment, they couldn't tell whether Harry was alive and Neville said, "Oh my god! I've killed Harry Potter!"

My first post

I wanted to start a blog because I just wanted to.

I listened to The Night Flyers today. It is about a girl whose dad went to war . She has a flock of pigeons and a guy offers her $200 for the whole flock but she says no and over the next couple of days her birds start disappearing and she suspects him. I have not finished listening yet.
